Earthquake Devastates Haiti
Today at approximatly 5 p.m. local time Haiti was struck by an earthquake of 7.0 magnitude. The epicenter of this quake was 10 miles southwest of Port-au-Prince Haiti's capital and largest city. It is estimated that half of the 2million inhabitants of Port-au-Prince may be dead. The majestic presidential palace is now in ruins. A hospital in petionville has collapsed, as well as many schools and churches. Whole homes have fallen into ravines. The entire community of Carrefour is said to have vanished. As of the time of this writing we have been unable to contact our family and staff in Haiti due to the phone lines being knocked down... We are left to hope and pray that they are safe. We have heard reports that the tsunami watch is over, but aftershocks are still being felt.
